A COSMOS LAC SPONSORSHIP WITH FLAME COLOR RANGE
A collaboration with Urban Act
Inspired by the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution of 1821, four mural artists will leave their imprint in four public schools in Athens in 2021.
“From the Roots to the Sky” is the debut entry in the “ATHENS MURAL ART 2021-2023” festival, a collaboration between Urban Act and the Municipality of Athens, and is sponsored and supported by COSMOS LAC Lac with spray paints from our FLAME colour range.
This first phase of the project featured four murals inspired by Greek cultural history and tradition.
― Inspired by Theofilos’ Erotokritos and Aretousa, mural artist KEZ recreates the iconic couple on the side wall of Athens’ 104th Primary School.
― Giving life to Andreas Kalvos’ poem – a wonderful ode to freedom – mural artist Leonidas Giannakopoulos creates a mural for the 18th Secondary School’s wall.
― SAME 84 creates an alternate version of Johann Georg Christian Perlberg’s oil painting “Drums for the War of Independence – Young Drummer in Missolonghi” on the side wall of 13th Primary School.
― Last but not least, Gospel’s “Pantheon” pays tribute to the Greek Revolutionary Heroes of 1821: Laskarina Bouboulina, Theodoros Kolokotronis, and Konstantinos Kanaris. A mural that can be found on the walls of Athens’ 133rd Primary School.
