Rust – Converter Phosphating
DESCRIPTION
Rust – Converter Phosphating for rusted iron or steel surfaces. Chemically converts iron oxides into a dark, stable, insoluble and compact phosphate compound that firmly adheres to the metal surface and can be painted over. Suitable for the restoration of metal structures such as railings, gates, vehicle bodies, beams, tanks, sheet metal, pipes, and any metal component affected by rust.
APPLICATION
Remove loose layers of rust or paint using a wire brush. Remove oils and grease. Apply by brush, spraying, or immersion, ensuring complete and uniform wet ting of the sur face. Keep the sur face protected from water for 8-12 hours. Allow the product to react for 2-12 hours, depending on the degree of oxidation, until the characteristic dark grey/black colour appears. On heavily rusted sur faces, repeat the application if necessary. Finally, rinse thoroughly with water to remove any excess unreacted product. Allow the sur face to dry completely and proceed with painting within 48 hours.
